How do students apply?
Announcements are distributed in early spring by the Department of Education and via this Web site. The announcements include a preview of the learning activities and convey the importance of student commitment to a substantive course of study. Interested students complete an application form and essay in response to a description of SIELP, writing about their reasons for wanting to participate.
Note: The essay must be written in English without assistance from the student's teacher.
You need to have Adobe Acrobat software in order to view and print the SIELP application form in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) file. If you don't have this program installed on your computer you may download it by clicking on the Adobe Reader icon below.
