Borough of Manhattan
It is an honor to serve as the Executive Director of ASAP at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). For the past 15 years, I have worked in higher education supporting programs through academic support services, student affairs and social action. These positions have focused not only on retention but on the holistic development of students as civic-minded leaders. I am excited about the opportunity to utilize these experiences to further promote academic, professional and personal development for the ASAP students at BMCC.
Prior to joining BMCC, I worked at St. John’s University, as Executive Director of the Vincentian Institute for Social Action. The Institute provides an academic platform to explore social justice concerns through service and scholarship and utilizes high impact practices to promote student engagement and learning. It is comprised of academic service-learning, a four-year leadership formation, a faculty research consortium and collaborates with almost 100 community partnerships in New York City and abroad. I have also served as the Director of Student Development responsible for transition programs such as new student orientation and was an academic advisor for first-year students. I have earned a Doctorate of Education from Fordham University and both a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Master’s in Student Development Practice in Higher Education from St. John’s University.
I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of ASAP at BMCC. I look forward to contributing to the College’s proud tradition of academic excellence and promoting student success through ASAP!
