All applications must be submitted online. As you cannot save and return to edit your application, all information must be entered into the form in one session. We recommend you download the application preview and compile the information in advance of uploading it to our form.

Applications for 2018-19 residencies will be accepted online from October 3 – November 1, 2017.

1. Choreographer Biography (1000 characters, including spaces)

2. Company mission and history, if applicable. Describe the company’s work, production history, and accomplishments. (1000 characters, including spaces)

3. Briefly describe the proposed project and objectives for the residency. (1000 characters, including spaces)

4. List any technical needs for this residency, including equipment you plan to bring yourself.

5. Requested length and timeframe for residency, and how you will structure your time. (i.e. are you seeking fewer rehearsal hours over an extended period of time, or one to two intensive weeks of rehearsal?).

6. List the dancers, collaborating artists and others who will participate in the residency.

7. Specify the months (July 2017-June 2018) you are available for a residency.

8. Are you interested in holding scheduled open rehearsals, teaching a class or offering another way for the college community to experience your work? Y/N

9. If so, briefly describe your proposed activities (500 characters, including spaces).

11. After reviewing the college facilities and locations in our guidelines, select up to two (2) CUNY campuses in Manhattan where you would like to have a residency:

  • Baruch Performing Arts Center at Baruch College
  • City College Center for the Arts at City College
  • Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College
  • Tribeca Performing Arts Center at BMCC

12. After reviewing the college facilities and locations listed in our guidelines, select the CUNY campuses in the boroughs where you would like to have a residency (check as many as appropriate):

  • Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts at Brooklyn College
  • On Stage at Kingsborough at Kingsborough Community College
  • Department of Creative and Performing Arts at the College of Staten Island (in partnership with Snug Harbor Cultural Center)
  • Hostos Center for the Arts and Culture at Hostos Community College
  • Lehman College, Theatre and Dance Program ++
  • LaGuardia Performing Arts Center
  • Queensborough Community College, Department of Dance
  • Queens College, Kupferberg Center for the Arts
  • York College, Milton G. Bassin Performing Arts Center

++ indicates rehearsal residency only, no performance opportunity
