Brendan Drake is a contemporary choreographer whose work focuses on a blend of disparate genres, humor, and theatricality to create highly stylized, yet human, performance. His most recent premiere, “Rope,” was presented at Gowanus Loft in March 2015 as part of the initial season of CRAWL, a city-wide dance installation lead by Kate Ladenheim and The People Movers.

Recent work has also included presentations at Movement Research, Playwrights Horizons, Triskelion Arts Center, The Current Session, Dixon Place, and Westfest with Westbeth. Additionally, Brendan is a Movement Coordinator for some leading fashion photographers, including Ryan McGinley, and has had work published in Porter, Elle, Flare, and V Magazines. He has been at the helm of national campaigns for Adidas (Pharell Williams’ Equality = Love), Hermes, Kate Spade, and Cate Blanchett. Brendan is a contributing dance reviewer and columnist for and his company, Brendan Drake Choreography, is fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas.
