2014 | John Jay College of Criminal Justice

This fall, the all-female tap dance crew The Syncopated Ladies will develop an evening length, narrative-driven piece with live music. They’ll teach a master class for John Jay College students, open to all levels of dancers, and tap shoes are not required.

Chloé Arnold’s Syncopated Ladies is the first female tap dance band. They more than hold their own in this male-dominated art form and are a fierce crew of dancers who have appeared on the television shows So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With the Stars, GLEE, Pepsi, Coca-Cola, and Toyota national commercials, the films Idlewild and GI Joe, as well as stages in over 25 countries. Their latest music video, “Beyoncé Tap Salute,” went viral in less than 36 hours with the endorsement of Beyoncé herself.
