Eva Dean Dance is a Brooklyn-based company formed in 1985.The mission of EDD is to support and strengthen the presence of dance as a performing art form in NYC, to develop and reach diverse audiences for dance, to support the work of other choreographers and dancers, to create and perform the choreography of Eva Dean, and to teach EDD technique and repertory to students representing a wide range of ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
The company is intrepid and thrives on the challenge of creating work for anywhere requested, from empty swimming pools to 19th century barns, from staircases to botanical gardens. Performance credits in NYC include the New York International Fringe Festival, Dance Theater Workshop, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Brooklyn Museum of Art, among many others. National performance credits include Carol Autorino Center in Hartford, CT, First Night Boston, and Monkey House productions in Medford, MA. Internationally EDD has performed in Dubai United Arab Emirates, Amsterdam Fringe where it received “Best of Fringe New York,” and at Fringe Festival Prague, CZK.
