Jinah Parker is a multi-faceted creative force from Buffalo, NY. Jinah has received a Masters Degree in Dance Education from New York University and a B.A. in Dance from the University at Buffalo where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa National Honors Society. She was a member of Dayton Contemporary Dance Company II, Lehrerdance, Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company and Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theater, where she was a commissioned choreographer. Jinah has worked as a full-time dance educator for the Buffalo and New York City Board of Education. She has had the pleasure of teaching on the university level as a semester substitute instructor as well as a guest artist. Her specialties lie in dance composition, modern technique, and curriculum writing. Jinah started “The Jinah Parker Project,” to inspire people of all backgrounds through dance, choreography, and education. Jinah’s most recent works include “Statement Pieces” at Dixon Place (NYC) and two versions of SHE at New York Live Arts. SHE was recently invited to perform at Long Island University’s Kumble Theater and the Brooklyn Museum First Saturday, and it will be a part of the Sublet Series at HERE theater in May 2017.
