More about Shook Ones

2015 | LaGuardia Community College

Shook Ones is a multimedia dance theater company that utilizes dance, spoken word and projection to create live experiences that are visually stimulating, emotionally impactful and socially relevant. Based in NYC, Shook Ones was founded in 2012 by choreographer, Cindy Salgado, and writer/director, Alejandro Rodriguez, both Juilliard alum, who met in South Florida as volunteers for the non-profit, Artists Striving to End Poverty (ASTEP).

In January 2014, they were joined by another ASTEP alum, multimedia artist, Yazmany Arboleda, for their debut show at the LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, “Rare and Dangerous and Necessary.” Their first full-length original work, “Sorry,“ is currently in development at LPAC, with additional support provided by the Center for Innovation in the Arts at The Juilliard School.
