Treehouse Shakers is a dance-theater company specializing in dynamic performances for young audiences and their families. Founded in 1997 by lifelong friends and collaborators Emily Bunning, choreographer, and Mara McEwin, writer/director, Treehouse Shakers builds inventive, intelligent and engaging performances that nurture creative thought and inspire dialogue.
Treehouse Shakers currently has six shows, for babies to teens, on a rotating tour across the nation. Their newest original work, Under the Tangle is a dance-mystery geared towards ages 8+ about a young orphaned girl who becomes ensnarled in a mysterious labyrinth. This adventurous tale is filled with obstacles, relationships, and discoveries, and is part of Tribeca Performing Arts Center’s Schooltime series, which offers subsidized tickets to live performances for school groups in the NYC area.
