“For five years the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program has made a difference in the lives of thousands of young people and has been a benefit to their communities and the nation.
I’m pretty confident most of you would agree that our annual fall ritual – classes starting and campuses filled with the energy and optimism of the new academic year – represent the best of our traditions. I hope, for my sake, that you also enjoy, or at least tolerate, the annual welcome back letter. I want to share a few thoughts as the new academic year begins and express my thanks for all you do for The City University of New York and our amazing students.
