The CUNY Academy for the Humanities and Sciences is pleased to announce its 2017-8 award programs for full time Assistant and Associate Professors at all CUNY colleges, schools, and centers:

The Academy will hold elections for its Board of Directors in the Fall Semester.

Seeing Race, Class, Gentrification, as well as the World in Brooklyn.  Profs. Jerome Krase,  Judith N. DeSena Race, and  Timothy Shortell will discuss the future of New York City’s most fascinating borough. Graduate Center Room 8301 from 11am – 1pm on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. A Panel Discussion on the New York State Constitution, moderated by Dr. Joseph S. Biehl. Tuesday, September 26, 2017, in the Graduate Center, Room C197 from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. The event is cosponsored by the Gotham Philosophical Society and hosted by Professor Stefan Baumrin.  RSVPs are not necessary for this event.

Manfred Philipp is a Professor of Biochemistry, Lehman College and the CUNY Graduate Center who currently serves on the UFS Executive Committee, and served as Chair of the University Faculty Senate, 2006-2010. Professor Philipp has also served as President of the CUNY Academy for the Humanities and Sciences and currently serves as the Academy’s Executive Director.
